Fundraising in 2023

We hit the ground running this year with our fundraisers. We had our annual talent show, golf scramble as well as fundraisers at Applebees, Pizzahut, and Main Event.

Our annual We’ve Got Talent was a hit! Family members of the performers, along with supporters of Ability Works, gathered at The Chapel on March 23rd for a delightful spaghetti dinner and a captivating showcase of talent.

From soulful singing to captivating dances and hilarious jokes, the evening was an inspiring celebration of both skill and heart. From emotional, moving performances to upbeat, exciting performances, we had it all!

Thanks to the generosity of Great Lakes Audio, who donated their time and equipment, our talented performers shined brighter than ever. We had the best show yet with lighting, high tech sound equipment, and even a handicap accessible photobooth!

Thanks to the extraordinary performers and our dedicated sponsors, we managed to raise over $3,000.

On May 5th, the cold rainy weather finally cleared up and we had a great day of golf and raising money. At 8 AM sharp, our esteemed Job Developer, Tony Yourkavitch, fired the starting canon, signaling the beginning of an exhilarating day filled with golf, fun, and refreshing beverages, all in support of a worthy cause.

After a morning of golf, we came back together for a taco lunch, raffles, and to announce prize winners! To add some extra fun, we included gag prizes like “closest to the tree” and “closest to the water without going in,” and even a last-place prize!

The golfers generously supported us by participating in the game, purchasing raffle tickets, and generously tipping the bar staff. Thanks to their unwavering support, we managed to raise over $11,000.

Our staff feel it is important to be fully transparent with our supporters. Many non profits will share their total profit from their events, and not the Net profit...what they really made after all expenses. We continue to share with you only the Net profit, so you know exactly how much fundraising money goes to Ability Works.

With the combined success of our prominent fundraisers, restaurant collaborations, and clothing bin contributions, we are thrilled to announce that we have raised over $15,000 in less than six months! This represents the true Net profit that will directly contribute to the invaluable work of Ability Works, all thanks to the unwavering generosity of our incredible supporters.

We still have so many more fundraising opportunities throughout the year including an Extra Special Dine-to-Donate fundraiser at Panda Express on July 10th where 50% of proceeds from those who show the flyer at checkout!
